Terms of sale

The agreement between you and this shop when you place an order.

Draft — not legal advice, and not yet reviewed. This policy was written to describe how this shop really works, but it has not been reviewed by a Canadian lawyer. Review it, fill in every TODO below, and have it checked before the shop takes a live order.

Who you are dealing with

TODO insert the registered business name, the business address, and the GST/HST number once registered

These terms apply to every order placed through this site. Placing an order means you accept them.

What we sell

Everything sold here is custom-made to your order. Each item is printed and cut from artwork you supply, at a size, on a material and in a quantity you choose. Nothing is stock; nothing can be resold to another customer. This matters throughout these terms and in the refund policy.

Placing an order

A price shown on this site is an offer to sell at that price for that configuration. An order is formed when you complete payment. We may decline or cancel an order, refunding you in full, if we cannot print it — unsuitable or unlawful artwork, a material that has gone out of stock between your order and production, or a size the press cannot produce.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Shipping and any applicable taxes are shown at checkout before you pay.

Your artwork

You keep ownership of the artwork you send us. By sending it you confirm that:

You grant us the limited right to reproduce, resize and modify your artwork only so far as production requires — building the print file, the cut path and the bleed, and printing the quantity you ordered.

TODO decide whether the shop may show finished work in a portfolio or on social media, and say so here; the safe default is: only with your written permission

If a claim is brought against us because of artwork you supplied, you agree to cover the cost of it.

Proof approval

We prepare a print file from your artwork and send you a proof. Approving the proof is what authorises us to print. Once you approve it:

Check the proof carefully. It is the last point at which a mistake is free to fix.

Production and delivery

TODO state the production time, measured from proof approval, and note that it is an estimate rather than a guarantee

Delivery dates given by us or by a carrier are estimates. We are not responsible for a carrier's delays once a parcel has left us, but we will help you chase it. Risk of loss or damage passes to you on delivery; see the refund policy for parcels that arrive damaged.

Colour and print tolerances

Printing has tolerances, and a custom print is not a photocopy of your screen:

TODO agree the numeric tolerances you are willing to stand behind — for example cut registration in millimetres, and finished size as a percentage — and state them here rather than 'a small tolerance'

If something goes wrong

We stand behind our own work: if an order is defective or is not what you ordered, we reprint it or refund it. That is set out in the refund policy and it is the remedy we offer.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses — lost profit, a missed event, the cost of reprinting something else.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable Canadian consumer protection law, which cannot be contracted out of.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of TODO insert the province or territory the business operates from and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of that province have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The version published on this page when you place an order is the one that governs it.

TODO insert the contact email address for order and legal enquiries
