Questions and answers

Proofs, turnaround, reprints and the rest of what people ask before ordering.

Ordering

How long does an order take?

TODO fill in production turnaround — business days from proof approval to the parcel leaving, and whether it changes for large runs

The clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order, because nothing is printed before then.

Is there a minimum order?

There is a minimum order value rather than a minimum quantity, so you can order five of something if you want to. See pricing for the current figure and how the quantity breaks work.

Can I order a few different designs together?

Each design is configured and priced as its own order today, because the setup work and the roll layout are per design. If you have a set to run, get in touch and we will look at it as one job.

Do you do bulk, wholesale or repeat orders?

Yes. Large runs already get the best rate automatically at the top quantity break. For anything recurring, or bigger than the order form is comfortable with, talk to us and we will quote it directly. TODO add the contact address for bulk enquiries

Repeat orders of artwork we have already prepared skip the proof step, since the file is already built and approved.

Proofs

Do I see a proof before you print?

Yes, on every order. We prepare the print file from your artwork — artboard, cut path, bleed — and send you a proof showing the sticker at its finished size with the cut line marked. Nothing goes on the press until you approve it.

What if the proof is not right?

Reply with what needs to change and we will send a revised one. That is what the step is for, and it costs nothing.

Is the proof colour-accurate?

It is a screen proof, so treat colour as indicative. Your monitor is RGB and back-lit and the sticker is CMYK ink on vinyl; they will never match exactly. The proof is there to confirm the artwork, the size, the placement and the cut. See artwork guidelines for what shifts and why.

After it ships

Something is wrong with my stickers. Will you reprint them?

If we got it wrong — wrong size, wrong material, the cut off register, colour well away from the proof, a print defect — we reprint it at our cost or refund it. That is on us.

If the stickers match the proof you approved, it is not a defect, even when the result is disappointing: a logo that was low resolution in the file is low resolution on the vinyl. We will always tell you before printing when we can see that coming. Full detail on refunds and returns.

Can I cancel or change an order?

Before you approve the proof, yes — nothing has been printed and we refund in full. Once you approve it the job goes on the press and it is custom-made to your file, so it cannot be cancelled. See refunds and returns.

How do you ship, and how much is it?

Shipping is calculated from your address at checkout, before you pay. TODO confirm which carriers are used, the order cut-off time for same-day dispatch, and whether local pickup is offered

Do you ship outside Canada?

TODO state whether the shop ships to the US or internationally, and who pays duties

The stickers themselves

How long will they last outdoors?

It depends on the material and whether it is laminated. The rating for each roll is on the materials page. Laminate is what protects against scuffing and UV, and it is worth having on anything that lives outside.

Are they waterproof? Dishwasher safe?

Laminated vinyl handles rain, washing and a water bottle without complaint. Nothing we print is dishwasher safe — sustained heat and detergent will get under any adhesive eventually.

What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?

Die-cut goes all the way through, so each sticker comes off the roll as its own shape with the backing cut to match. Kiss-cut goes through the vinyl only and leaves the sticker on a rectangular backing, which is easier to peel and better for packs. Sheet is uncut — you get the printed sheet and cut it yourself.

Do you keep my artwork?

Yes, so that a reorder does not mean sending the file again. What we store and for how long is set out in the privacy policy, and you can ask us to delete it.

Can I use artwork I did not make?

Only if you have the right to. We print what you send on the basis that you own it or are licensed to use it — see the terms. We will not knowingly print someone else's trademark or copyrighted work for a third party.
